Karp, D.R. and Clear, T.R. (2002) "What is community justice? Case studies of restorative justice and community supervision"

Feltöltve: 2010. 02. 27.

Thousand Oaks, Sage, 172 p.

This book addresses the specific ways of achieving five goals through which it is possible to integrate the community and the criminal justice process in probation programs. These specific ways are introduced by six case studies of probation programs that represent a practical side of the community justice ideal. What emerges is a provocative and enlightening new approach to the problems of probation and parole. Each chapter in this book contains a case study of a community justice type of program in one part of the United States: Ventura County, California; Maricopa County, Arizona; Vermont Tallahassee, Florida; Boston, Massachusetts; Deschutes County, Oregon. The case studies highlight real-world programs attempting to fulfil one or more core elements of the community justice model. At the beginning of the book the editors have written a valuable introduction to the community justice model of supervision, and there is a short concluding essay sketching some of the key challenges for this movement.
