Uploaded at: 2010. 03. 01.

Akron, Mennonite Central Committee U.S., Office on Crime and Justice, 24 p.

First, an overview is given of the developing Victim Offender Reconciliation Program (VORP) schemes. Next, program models being launched in United States and Canada are described. Amongst them we find: the Restorative Justice Project in Madison (Wis.), Genesee Justice in Batavia (NY), Victim/offender Workshop in Ossining (NY), Victims and Offenders in Conciliation in Rochester (Kent, UK), Victim/offender Reconciliation Group in Vacaville (Ca), Face to Face in Manitoba, Newfoundland, and Saskatchewan (Canada), Victim-Offender Reconciliation Program in Graterford (Pa), Pre Release Mediation Program in Ontario (Canada), and Victim Offender Mediation Pilot Project in Langley (Canada). In the next chapter, critical issues on developing victim-offender mediation in a penal setting are discussed.
